Our History, Thumper and Squeak
Accommodation:
- We have our own smart camera which ensures the safety of your pet/s if we are out. We also have smart plugs which can be switched on remotely to turn on additional heat or coolant when required.
- We offer secure hutches inside a secure locked and floodlight protected building with a play section inside to ensure that your fur babies are well protected from the elements etc. There are also heaters and fans to ensure that this building never gets to cold or hot, which is constantly monitored via our wall thermometer. With outside decking and grass areas for play and fun in the sun,where again your fur babies will be secure in an enclosed locked garden and secure metal run within our garden.
Health & Hygiene:
- All hutches, cages are cleaned daily and thoroughly disinfected on a regular basis using the veterinarian recommended F10 disinfectant. All animals boarded have their own hutch/cage unless you have more one that live together happily.
- We supply all bedding, hay, treats, fresh fruit and vegetables however ask that you provide your pets preferred dried food.
Exercise:
- As fresh air and exercise are important to rabbit and guinea pigs they will have time outside to frolic and play weather permitting.
- If the weather is too wet or cold we have space inside our protected building to ensure that your pet always has their daily exercise
Updates:
- New summer 2022, we purchased 3 new double hutches retiring the older ones to be used outside. We also had a large guinea pig cage donated and an outside double hutch donated. We also purchased 2 new fans in July to help with the extremely hot couple of days we had, one of which is a large floor standing one.
- New summer 2021 another large guinea pig cage, an air conditioning unit plus coolant mats and pads due to the longer hot summer this year.
- New March 2021, new larger run, same length as the rest but wider 2 metres (6 feet) to add more tunnels etc. For multiple bunnies.
- We have purchased 2 more guinea pig runs and hideaways to attach. Another hideaway purchased to for our newer larger run.
- 2020 was a difficult year for all, we painted our hutches our signature blue and some lilac too. We also purchased 2 new large double guinea pig cages and a new single use one.
- 2019 we custom built 3 rabbit runs. These runs are 1 metre in height (3 feet) to allow rabbits to jump and stretch. Length approximately 2 metres (6 feet), width approximately 1.22 metres (4 feet). These will have a metal section overhead plus tarpaulin, and will still have our original ones available too. We have already purchased 2 more of our guinea pig runs including hutches, and have our originals available too.
- Early 2018 we asked council permission and checked with planning, obtained advice from the Small Business Gateway. Checked we did not require a licence or to be inspected by animal welfare which we did not have to. We set up with second hand hutches etc. Until we knew there was a demand for our services and the rest is history as they say.
